I spent 17 glorious days in Germany back in 2008. We went for a mission trip and stayed mostly in Mainz. We also toured around the area. I never wanted to leave and hope to return one day. And it's normal to learn a language much faster when you're immersed in it rather than learning Japanese with occasional classes or something.
