Description:

While making ATC's (artist trading cards) one day, I had a great idea for a swap. Often when making ATC's i use playing cards because they're exactly the right size. Then it hit me - what if i were to use a whole pack of cards and decorate them to a theme? I'd then have a whole set of personalized playing cards, that i could either use for my own card games, or give away as a unique gift.

Your task for this swap, is to take a pack of plain bargain store playing cards (usually around $1 or $2), and create a totally unique set of playing cards for one partner. The cards can have any theme you like, as long as they all come together to demonstrate one idea (kind of like a huge set of ATC's).

Be creative, and feel free to use any medium you like to decorate your cards - just be careful the cards don't get to thick to use!

If your feeling up to the challenge, why stop at the back of the card? The whole card is up for customizing, as long as it's still easy to decipher which card its meant to be.

When your done, you can also decorate the box they came in, or make or buy one. I keep my favorite playing cards in this little cigarette tin that i bought from the markets (they usually retail around $10). Cigarette tins are really nice safe places to keep cards, and will probably even serve this purpose especially well - as i know no one would want their precious new playing cards lost or damaged in the weather. Don't feel that you need to purchase one of these however, as i want to keep this swap in the price range of everybody.

Because this is such a huge task, once the sign up is over, you'll have aprox a month to make your deck. This equals out to making about 2 every day, which is alot more manageable.

If you have any questions, please don't hesitate to contact me.

Anyone with negative feedback that indicates non sending will be removed from this swap immediately. It's not fair on everybody else who puts in the time and effort to not receive anything.

PLEASE NOTE: This is an international Swap. Don't worry to much though, postage for a pack of playing cards should be too much.

Wow what a great challenge!! Now for more information... Usually all playing cards have the same backside (to camouflage the playing card side) Are we going to try to do the same on each card? or have them all different? Either way sounds great to me but I wouldn't want to dissapoint anyone...connie

I was thinking about this myself, but i don't think it would matter too much if the cards didn't match. It would take alot of effort to memorize 52 cards by their backs, so i don't think it would cause too much trouble. Making 52 different ones would probably be more fun, but its up to you really. :)

I'm stoked. Can't wait to begin. When I design ATC backgrounds I usually make too many. Here's my chance to do a whole set.
