I love the few Mug Rugs I have and used them all over the house. There one on my art table, one on my sewing machine table and one on my coffee table...but I still could use more. Mug Rugs are extra large coasters that are big enough for your mug and a snack. The ones I have are approximately 5" x 7". There are lots of tutorials on the web and a perfect way to use up some small fabric scraps. Because they will get used alot, they will need to be of a material that will hold up to machine washing and drying. Most mug rugs are made of cotton and are like little quilts with batting and backing fabric. Since they are small and light, this swap will be international. If this goes over well, maybe we can do a a monthly mug rug swap. For this month, being February, it can be a winter theme, Valentine theme, or if your down under, I guess it would be a summer theme! Maybe February is your partner's birthday month. Lots of room for creativity. |
