What is a SLAM?
Slams are friendship books that include a theme of questions, like "What is your favorite" or When was the last time you said "I love you" or other similar questions. These usually include one page as a "sign in", several pages of questions, and then a "sign out" or "shout out" page at the end.
HOW THIS SWAP WILL WORK:
Decorated FRONT COVER
INSIDE COVER - include name of this swap and your name
BACK COVER - include "please return to" with your full mailing details
FIRST PAGE should be labeled "Sign in Sheet" (here each person who receives and answers the questions in your book will post their name and mailing details)
EACH OF THE FOLLOWING PAGES will have one prompt question (one question per sheet), and the signer will answer each. (You write the questions.)
LAST PAGE - will be labeled the "Shout Outs" page -- here your partners can shout out any Swap-Bot swapper you have met and become/becoming great friends with or you feel was an awesome swap partner.
SLAM REQUIREMENTS:
There is no required size but it is recommended to start with an ATC size book, so it can fit in a standard size envelope.
Make sure it is not to bulky, this will be traveling the world and we want to send these in FLAT ENVELOPES!!!!
Your book should have at least 6 pages. The first page should be a "sign in" page for each person who receives it, they should include their name and mailing info. The last page should be the shout out page.
This is essentially your book and you can decorate it as you wish, but here are a few suggestions:
- Your book should be nice and neat and show some creativity.
- No visible staples on the cover!
- You should laminate your cover - you can use clear packing tape to do this. This is important, because the idea is this book would travel all around the country or world and it must be able to withstand all of the shipping etc.
- Make sure to note your return address somewhere on the inside of the front or back cover. (you may want to type this part or PLEASE print legibly)
I will continue to host this group swap as long as folks are interested ;-)
