Description:

PLEASE read this entire description before signing up for this swap!

This swap is for the Little House on the Prairie series for the older kids book/author group for the Buys Bag Exchange Group.

PLEASE NOTE: Mspeegle (Melissa Speegle) is hosting this swap but will not be participating. MamaV (Vilate Thacker) will be sending items to anybody partnered with mspeegle so you will still receive all your items.

The activity can be from any of the books or from all of the books combined. These activities are for older elementary/middle school kids, so please keep this in mind as you are creating your activity and try to keep them age appropriate.

You will have 5 partners for this swap. You will create 6 items, one for each of your partners and one for you to keep.

Everything must be handmade please do not send prepackaged craft kits.

Please note that this is swap is open to United States & Canada so be prepared in case you get partners who are not in your country. Swap-bot assigns partners so I have no control over this! It is a possibility that all your partners could be out of your own country, not likely but be prepared for before you sign up.

A note on ratings:

Please rate a "5" if you received your item on time. You may give "hearts" to any swapper who you felt went above and beyond your expectations or included extra goodies in their packages.

Please rate a "3" if they sent the item but sent it late. Or if they did not follow any of the requirements in this swap as stated above.

Please rate a "1" if you never received an item at all. *Swap-bot DOES allow you to change a rating so if you do receive the item from a swapper later on please change the rating to a "3".

If you are going to be late on the swap but still intend to send the item please COMMUNICATE with your partners. This can help nip ill feelings in the bud. Notifying your partners does not necessarily mean they will give you a "5" rating for contacting them. Most likely you will receive a "3" rating for being late but it is courteous to let your partners know that they will receive an item.

DO NOT give a bad rating for something that you do not like or for quality that is not up to your personal standards. Everybody has a different level of skill and as long as they made the effort to make an item please give them a good rating.

On the other hand please DO check out the pictures of previous swaps to see the quality of items that are being swapped. If you do not feel you can meet this quality right now please practice on your own and join another month. We would hate for somebody to receive an item for their child only to have it fall apart on them!

If you have any questions at all feel free to ask! I know almost everybody who joins this swap will be new to swap-bot so this will be a learning experience for most of you.

Please feel free to use the fb group to bounce around ideas, positive chat, and share pictures! We want it to be a fun place!

I'm excited about this swap! My oldest (11) just finished Farmer Boy & we have the 9-book set on the way to our house now! =) I think I am going to do a covered wagon craft/activity for this swap. What is everyone else planning to do?

@Alayna I have no idea yet what I will do. I even signed up again... so I will be making two different activities... I guess I better come up with a couple good ones huh? LOL!!

I'm fairly sure I'll be doing a CD of music from the books, sent with lyrics. If my kids cooperate, that is. :)

I have no idea what I am going either. I will have to do some pinteresting. My daughter is only 2 so I am making this for the future. I was just so excited that we were doing Little House that I didn't care what age it was for! So I am open to ideas. I am up to making whatever.

You will need instructions/pics when you put it together so this will be easy to find here! =) I will try to include written instructions but our printer is broken so there will be no pics for sure! I'm hoping to get my bags in the mail this week! =D

What do you think about a weaving project? I'll supply everything and set it up for your kids and they weave their own doll blanket or coaster. It will be small. But then they will know how to do it and can do it again bigger. I saw a great photo step by step on pinterest. Looks simple enough for kids.
