Description:

Blind Contour Drawing is a classic exercise in which the artist draws the subject without looking at the paper. This is appropriate for anyone at any skill level.

Purchase a card featuring an image that appeals to you. This is sender's choice, but the card must be folded and made for mailing in the envelope with which it is sold. Hold the card where you can see it and, using a fine-tipped black marker, draw the contour of that image onto the envelope without looking at your drawing until the drawing is complete. The idea is not to end up with a nice drawing. You won't! The idea is to practice eye/hand communication.

Write a note inside the card telling your partner about your experience. Seal the card inside the envelope and write the address information on the back of the envelope so it will not interfere with your drawing.

I will angel in the unfortunate event of a one rating.

This is appropriate for anyone with no skills at all.

Finally, a swap for ME! lol

LOL! It doesn't say, anyone with no skills at all. It says, anyone at any skill level. If the first condition were true, you wouldn't qualify!

I am in! This sounds like fun!

WooHoo! I looked at cards yesterday. Hmmmmm. Couldn't find one featuring one lone straight line. lol

oh i have a question, my cards dont have a sentence on the cover, is that okay? or is a greeting card only a card with a sentence? are photo cards okay?

TerryF 09/20/2012 #

A lot of note cards over here do not have any words on the front either @Fatherted , so that is not a problem.

As for a photo card, I think it should be fine but will ask @LDD to come and confirm.

With photo card i meant: I have greetingcards with drawn pics on them/artistic cards of famous paintings, comics and so;
and i have cards where is a photographed dog on the front, so not a real real photo but a photo :)

Good questions! I'm hoping to find and use a card that has no words on the front (simply because I don't want to draw words). Photo cards are fine. The bottom line is, use whatever you feel comfortable tackling, as long as it's a folded card that comes in a mailable envelope. Thank you for mentioning that, @Fatherted I'll delete the word "greeting" from the swap. :-)

I would love to join, but I just can't right now. I will start joining and hosting more again towards the end of November.
