Description:

Would you like to find some good luck in your mailbox? Me too!

For this swap, you'll have 2 partners. For each partner you will create a piece of lucky mail art and include a bit of luck inside each envelope.

The lucky mail art you create should picture a good luck charm or a combination of good luck charms. Some examples of lucky charms are: four-leaf clover, horseshoe, fish, leprechaun, tortoise, scarab beetle, nautical (or barn) star, elephant, cricket, ladybug, penny, falling star, maneki neko (the Japanese cat). This list is by no means inclusive--perhaps you know of another lucky charm not listed here.

What you include inside is sender's choice--you might include a found penny (find a penny, pick it up; all day long you'll have good luck!) or something similar. Try to select something flat-ish to keep postage low. You might create a little origami crane for your partner or send something red-a symbol of good luck in the Chinese culture. The only thing I ask that you NOT send is a rabbit's foot. Not very good luck for the poor, sweet bunny.

Most important requirement: HAVE FUN CREATING!

What is mail art exactly, an elaboratly decorated envelope or is the card inside the envelope the art? Sorry for asking a maybe obvious question but i would not want to dissapoint.

Hi Mijo! Mail art is where you decorate the actual ENVELOPE that is sent through the mail. Don't put the decorated envelope inside a plain envelope; instead, MAIL the decorated envelope!
