Description:

Pink & Orange Mail Art Swap

It's SUMMER! (YaY) and the color combination of Pink & Orange always gives me a fun summertime feeling. So let's celebrate summer with some Pink & Orange mail art.

You can use any medium and style -i.e. (painting, drawing, stamping, collage, mixed media, etc.) as long as the majority of your mail art is decorated in the color combination of PINK & ORANGE

Your mail art may be in the form of an envelope or a handmade postcard.

  • If you choose to create envelope mail art please include inside the envie: a card, note, or some other kind of flat surprise for your partner (Just don't send the envelope empty :-)

  • If you choose to create postcard mail art please write on the back a brief and friendly note for your partner

I am allowing both envelope and postcard mail art because:

  1. Some people prefer creating mail art envies (I am one of those people) while others prefer handmade postcard mail art. So in order to not exclude anyone, both forms of mail art are welcome

  2. Some pepole want a less expensive way to send mail art which is another reason why I am including handmade postcard mail art

If you choose to create envelope mail art the reason you must send something inside the envie is because: 1. It's just LAME to send an empty envelope & 2. people who choose to send postcard mail art will be writing a brief note on the back of the postcard, so if you choose to make envie mail art the least you can do is send a brief note (and it doesn't have to be anything more than that -a brief note- unless you want it to be) inside your envelope

But keep in mind you should be rating your partner by the creative effort they have put into making their mail art for you not by whether there are "extras".

@greenraisin

I'd like to joint this swap but it says I don't meet the minimum requirements (yet!) . . . I have mailed out 2 of my swaps, just waiting for a rating and have another one to mail out tomorrow. What is the minimum rating / number of swaps I need by July 8 to be able to participate?

Thank you, Andrea Tally (CA, USA)

@greenraisin

BTW, the 3 swaps I've done so far have all been 3s . . .

Thank you again, Andrea

I love this idea! and since I will be back from my travels I can join! @andreatally your ratings may be posted by the time she assigns partners, you can put this on your watch list and if so, join when you get the ratings needed.

@andreatally Yes, like fawnscrafts stated, hopefully you'll have some ratings by the time I assign partners and then you can join in the fun. I do check profiles to see how many type 3 swaps people have completed -I usually want to see at least 7 in that category- but since I didn't state that in my swap description I will allow anyone with just three "type 3" swaps that also makes the ratings average requirement. Hope you get some ratings soon so you can join my swap :-)

I would love to join but don´t meet the minimum rating requieremnt. It´s a pity, cause I am a newbie & need to start somehow :-D

fawnscrafts 07/ 7/2013 #

@traveltina soon you will get them.

Join the easy type three, that require some artwork or something less costly to send.

Or start one or two type three, that are within your budget, and that would gender partners.

Then give one week to send, and about a week to sign up.

And I have found that most swaps are going to be repeated at least one more time.

Perhaps you can do another similar swap come winter, or even fall, not holiday, but fall colors are close if not the same too.

If I get my envelope done, I will join. I forgot to do the colors required in my envelope art work....
