Description:

This is one of those "mega-like" swaps that people sometimes host here on swap-bot for various items. This one, of course, will be for WASHI TAPE! :)

For all those of you who love tape and have at least 20 different tapes, this is the swap for you.

Here are the fine details of this swap.

  • You'll have 2 partners.
  • You'll send them each twenty (20) 5-inch (12.7 cm) strips of washi tape.
  • They can be any color or pattern; some of them can even be plain colors, but they must be all different.
  • Sender's choice.
  • Don't forget to decorate your envelopes with "wild washi abandon!"

By sending this smaller length of tape, it will allow just enough for those of us that have washi journals, those that make ATCs, bookmarks, envies, and like to decorate postcards, letters, & such.

For ideas on what to put your samples on, I listed a few ideas in the swap comments section. :)

Minimum joining requirements: Must have completed and been rated favorably for 5 Type 2 (or 3) swaps. No 1 or 3 ratings in the last 3 months, without a good explanation. PM me if you have such a rating and tell me the story.

The tape shown above is not my collection, although I wish it were :). I gleaned it from here: http://juliettedudley.com/2013/08/28/mega-craft-day/

Hi Beth...:) 12.7 is the standard ruler type, right? :) Thanks

A standard ruler from the USA is 12 inches long. My ruler shows both inches and centimeters. I used the website below (click on link) to calculate inches to centimeters. :)

If you've never sent washi tape before, below are some ideas on what to put it on. Basically you want something waxy, shiny, or "plastic" in nature so it won't stick permanently to it.

  • Put clear packing tape on a piece of card stock and wrap it around several times.

  • Wrap it around plastic coated playing cards - I just bought a deck at a thrift store, for 99 cents.

  • At my local Dollar Store, I bought a cheapie plastic placemat and I just cut it up into postcard sizes (you can use any size basically that you want) and wrapped it around that. I didn't have to use packing tape because it's plastic.

  • Wrap wax paper around a thin piece of cardboard, then wrap the tape on the wax paper.

  • Wrap it around something laminated.

Hope this helps.
