Description: | |
I have a large cabinet of curiosity started but I'm always in need of new items & I think there's some others out there who need more items for theirs. What is a cabinet of curiosity you ask. A cabinet of curiosities was an encyclopedic collection in Renaissance Europe of types of objects whose categorial boundaries were yet to be defined. They were also known by various names such as Cabinet of Wonder, and in German Kunstkammer ("art-room") or Wunderkammer ("wonder-room"). Modern terminology would categorize the objects included as belonging to natural history (sometimes faked), geology, ethnography, archaeology, religious or historical relics, works of art (including cabinet paintings) and antiquities. For this swap you will have one partner & you will send them 5 items that can be put in a cabinet. Some ideas of objects could be Apothecary Jars (filled with specimens) Fossils Animal Bones Taxidermy Shells Feathers Antique Items Cabinet Cards Antique Doll Parts Oddities Victorian photos Skeleton Keys Old Bottles Shrunken Heads You could make gaff items (or fake) items for a cabinet as well if you like. Just make sure they look pretty real. This is going to take some time to gather five items so I'm gonna give you a while to do this. This swap will be international so think about cost of what your getting. The price limit is up to you, but don't get your feeling hurt if you spend tons of money and your partner doesn't. Make sure you have label cards for each item so your partner will know what the item is. Make sure you also pack your items really well so that they arrive safely. |
