Description:

I am continuing the swapping of Inchie Bags. Since everyone in the first swap was from the US, I am making this one USA only. Hopefully a few others will now join us in passing these bags.

If you already have an established one to pass along from the other swaps, that's great! If not, here's how to start one:

Take a small envie and write your name and address on one side of it. On the other side, write instructions such as "take out two Inchies and add three". You can choose to have the person take or add as many as you wish.

Have numbered lines for persons who have participated to sign on. You can choose how many lines you want to offer, just make sure your bag is large enough to hold that many Inchies when full.

Indicate that the last person to sign should send it home. You can include any other instructions, such as whether or not the Inchies should be made by the swapper or if you accept pass alongs.

Put your three (or however many you indicated) Inchies inside the envie. I usually start a new bag with a few extras to give the first recipient more from which to choose. This is your Inchie bag.

Put the Inchie bag (envie) inside another envie to mail to your swap partner.

You will receive a bag from your other partner. You will select Inchies to keep, and add additional ones to the bag. Hold onto the bag until another swap opportunity. Then you will send it along its way.

An inchie bag I made for a friend was sent to her full. One thing I didn't like she told me about was that someone stuck the inchies on a piece of paper (they were not loose like they were put inside the inchie bag) Another thing is not everyone who did the inchie bag put their names on the backs of the inchies they added. This I will specify with the next inchie bags I make-that makers name should be on back and that the inchies should stay loose inside the inchie bag.

Good idea. If you have preferences, it is best to write them clearly on the bag.

I'm sorry to sound stupid or whatever, but could somebody tell me what an inchie is?

I've never done this before, looks fun! I'm looking forward to it!

Inchies are like ATCs, but are just one inch squares.

Sent! I was wondering how more ornate ichies hold up in the mail... I ended up keeping mine flat drawings, but wanted to add tiny bones and such that would likely need to be boxed. Even a padded envie probably wouldn't be enough protection for something like that...

They are ok, unless they get machine cancelled. Usually the bags are too lumpy and thick for the machine, though.
