SIMPLE MAGAZINE SWAP! For this Swap, you will send one new, current store-bought magazine to one partner. This is an international swap, so you must have enough time and money to buy a magazine from a store and then mail it to a partner who lives outside of your country. If you don’t have those kinds of resources, please skip this swap. This is a flake-free zone. This is a profile-based swap. You should endeavor to pick a magazine that appeals to your partner’s interests. You may also want to update your profile if there’s a particular type of magazine you would like to read or receive. However, because this is an international swap, you might receive a magazine that is not in a language you speak. For purposes of this swap, that’s totally acceptable. If nothing else, you will enjoy the pictures in the magazine. I love car magazines, for instance, so I enjoy looking at all the different makes and models of cars available in other countries, even if I don’t speak the languages spoken in those countries. I actually discovered this while sailing through the Mediterranean on a Turkish gulet and speaking with a married couple from France. The husband offered me his car magazine and even though I don’t speak a word of French – which itself is a tragic and unfortunate truth – I really enjoyed looking through his magazine! Then I realized what a wonderful swap this would be. And this swap was born. :) Only one person per country is allowed in this swap. When you sign up for this swap, comment below with the name of your country so that we don’t have doubles. If you see your country listed below, please don’t sign up. I am in the United States, so I put “United States” in the comment section below. Multiple people from the same country may join if they specify that they will be sending a magazine from a country other than their own. You do not need my permission to do this. So, for instance, if you are also from the U.S. but have a magazine from Russia that you are willing to swap, you can note this in the comments. You should write something like “I’m from the U.S. but I’ll be sending a magazine from Russia.” Then nobody from Russia could join, because a Russian magazine is already being sent. But remember – the magazine must be new and current. (No older than two months.) In addition to the magazine, please send along a note telling your partner where the magazine came from and something about the magazine. For instance, let's say you looked at your partner’s profile and the two of you have a lot in common. So, you decided to send your favorite magazine. You can describe that decision and say something about why the magazine you sent is your favorite. On a personal note, this is my first time hosting a swap – so let’s make it great! The minimum rating for this swap is 4.98; no unexplained 1s or 3s. No unrated newbies for this swap and you must have a profile that is filled out well. I will angel if necessary after you rate your partner a 1. |
