{This is a continuation of a series of swaps designed to help playing card collectors to build a deck with cards from different states. Many of us by now have had repeat partners and/or been partnered with someone in our own state. This is not a problem because we are friendly and we like to swap! It is a simple matter to set up your own private swap with somebody to swap those duplicate states. Another option would be to purchase a second deck of cards from your state that is different, and have those available if your partner is a repeat. Communication is key! Message your partners as soon as they are assigned. Find out what they have collected so far.} The deck of playing cards required for participation in this swap is a souvenir deck of (poker-type) playing cards that features your state on the backs. For example, mine shows landmarks from Oregon. Then I also have a deck with Oregon coast lighthouses, and a deck from my city, Portland. I just saw another deck at the store and will purchase it if I need to, Oregon beaches. All of these are from my state, so they will qualify. I opened it up for cities because of repeating partners. These souvenir decks can be purchased at department stores that carry postcards, keychains, magnets, shot glasses, etc. Sometimes they can be found in gas stations along interstate highways. If you do not have a deck and cannot seem to find one, try looking online. Each swap, we exchange one face value, such as Aces. We send all four of them (one from each suit) to one partner. They must be protected in a plastic sleeve and a notecard. This is a quick swap, nothing handmade. Please direct questions to my message box to ensure I get them in a timely manner. |
