Description:

Come up with 20 techniques and or somethings to include on a postcard. I don't think this will be too hard for most of us but definitely push yourself to add, add, add. Layer, layer, layer.

Try to use at least 5-10 techniques but have your card have at least 20 different things on them. To reach 20, count different images, words, colors, etc.

Ideas for techniques ...

Stamp (store bought or handmade or found)
Paint watercolors
Colored pencils (regular)
Colored water color pencils
Paints - oils
Markers
Drawing
Charcoals or pastel crayons
Napkins
Tissue paper
Encaustic wax
Sewing
Ink (painted, sprayed, etc).
Stencil
Collage
Specialty paint technique (crackle, etc)
Image transfer
Scratch art
Embossing
Emboss resist
Gelli plate
Bleach printing
Comb painting
Texturizing
Marbelized papers
Shaving cream printed papers
Plastic wrap technique
Ivory soap technique (http://afaithfulattempt.blogspot.com/2011/02/ba-ba-black-sheep.html)
Distress ink/paints

So, that's a pretty good list. Reach your 20 by counting multiple stamps - say you use a store bough rubber stamp but you also use some bubble wrap - both are stamping techniques and would each count = 2.

Say you draw with a marker and then you draw with a pencil = 2.

Say you put a circle of paint in a corner but then you also use crackle paint = 2.

Say you collage with images of a horse and a fish = 2.

So, you can see, it will be easy to get to 20 quickly. Push yourself and make a mess and make a beautiful postcard.

Ask questions about any of the techniques I've listed.

Postcards no smaller than 4 x 6 inches. Apply proper postage and include your name and the swap name so you can get rated.
