Description:

Valentine's Day inevitably brings with it memories of those who are no longer with us.

This swap will be to write a letter either TO or ABOUT someone you love who is no longer alive. Your loved one can be a person, a dog, your pet goldfish, etc, but please do choose someone or something that you feel really held (and holds) a special place in your heart. (I am not judging. I had a friend who actually smuggled his dead Betta fish onto a plane just so he could take the little guy to Hawaii for a burial at sea!)

Your letter should include why your loved one was so special to you, and the important things you remember that keep him/her/it alive in your heart today.

If it is not apparent to whom you are writing, please let your swap partner know, generally. Family member? Family pet? Feel free to include a photo, but that is not necessary.

Your letter can be as long or as short as you want, but it should be from the heart and it should cover the topics mentioned above.

I have restricted the swap to ratings of 4.89 or higher, because I am hoping those of you who participate will spend a little time on your letter. After all, it is your way of passing on your memory to someone else, and keeping it out there in the universe! I don't think it is fair for those of us who are willing to take the time and emotional energy to write such a letter to not get one in return.

I will angel if you are flaked on.

I think this is such an awesome idea for a swap but I would be pouring my heart out if I signed up, talking about my precious mom who died unexpectedly when she was 59 and who I miss so much that getting a letter about a fish would seem "not equivalent" to me. It was an interesting antidote to smuggle a fish on an airplane but...hmmm. I don't know.

Cool topic! You could expand on this idea for another one but this time write a letter to someones that your angry to.

Absolutely, greenhotdogs but February is all about the love. ;)

Tia, it is not so much about what you get from your recipiet as it is about what you get from sharing something about someone you love. If I got a letter that sincerely talked about how someone had a pet fish that got them through, for example, a lonely time in their life, and all the silly things they did/thought about the fish, I think I would enjoy it
