English Language Day is April 23. There are an estimated quarter of a million words in the English language "excluding inflections, and words from technical and regional vocabulary not covered by the OED, or words not yet added to the published dictionary, of which perhaps 20 per cent are no longer in current use," according to oxforddictionaries.com. In this swap you will choose one word from a list I provide which you are unfamiliar with. Based on the word alone, you will illustrate/create what you believe the word to mean in the medium of your choice, excluding postcard. You will include the definition you came up with and THEN you will look up the word and include the true definition. I would also love for photos to be taken of the finished result and posted (after partners receive them, of course) in our forums as I hope that this swap goes over well and can return soon. I hope that this swap encourages those of you who feel less artistic to give it a shot - you may surprise yourself. WORD LIST REQUIREMENTS: Must have participated in a Type-3 swap in the last three months. Must NOT have an unexplained 1 rating in the last 3 months. |
