Using stencils seem all the rage once again. Lots of them are on the market. However there are many other ways to get stencils than to buy them. Make them or find them already and waiting in the form of perferated packaging, mesh, netting, sequin waste, etc. You can also make your own using cutting tools on plastic or stiff water resistant chip board. For this swap you will make or discover 3 NON purchased stencils to use on 3 atcs and then you will mail the atcs and the stencils to your swap partner. You can use all the stencils on all the atcs or one on each ... your choice... but be creative... The atc is as important as the stencil! The stencils you make do not need to be large. make sure it will fit in your sending envelope without folding but it should be at least the size of a full atc.Your use of the stencil DOES NOT need cover the atc. but it could. This is not a high intensity swap but i am giving extra time so that you can scour your junk drawers, junk mail and recycle bins for items to use. And then PLAY!. I have found that a lot of plastic and thin metal in the food packaging can be cut or punched easily with craft knives or wood burning tools.... check out youtube for ideas and overviews. Mostly have fun! |
