Description:

I don't know of any swaps like this, but I don't want to step on anyone's toes....if you've hosted a similar swap or seen a similar swap, please let me know so I can credit the proper people.

I enjoy to journal. My problem, however, is that I often find myself unsure of what to write about, and I'm constantly unsure of where to find inspiration. The goal of this swap is to provide inspiration for your partner. You will have one partner for whom you will purchase a cheap notebook (don't spend more than $5). The notebook should 8.5"x11" and contain 100 sheets of paper.

Once you have your notebook, start by writing an opening message to your partner in the first few pages of the notebook. Tell your partner a little about your experience journaling, how long you've been doing it, what you like and dislike about it, and anything else you think they should know. The rest of the notebook should contain tips and advice for things your partner could discuss in their journal. You can be as creative as you want with this and get your message across however you want. You could include images, lists, quotes, questions, or other prompts for your partner to respond to. Basically, include anything you can think of to give your ideas about what to write about. The goal is to get your partner to think about journaling in ways they may not have thought of before. You can write one prompt at the top of a page and leave the rest of it blank (so your partner can respond in the notebook if they choose to), but every page should have at least one thing written on it.

Everybody is welcome to join this swap. However, if you know one of the participants to be a bad swapper, please alert me to the fact. I will angel of someone flakes.

hi! hope you dont mind me signing up, i have completed 2 swaps, just waiting for the ATCs to be received and rated!

i dont journal at the minute but would love to, the problem is i never know what to write or what should and shouldnt be written, so im looking forward to receiving a book with ideas already in it! but does anyone know of any sites that give you journal ideas? just so the journal i send out is the best it can be!

id love to join in with this.. but... i would like to personalise the journal and the sign up/closing date and send by date would be too close together for me to make the journal really special IYKWIM??? if you could give longer between the 2 dates id love to take part (if ud want me in that is of course)

I am a recycling nerd and found this cool recycled notebook that I am so excited to use. The problem is it's only 80 pages and not 100. If I look at my partners profile and send a special little gift along with the journal does anyone think that would be a problem?

DBlalock 08/27/2008 #

salfra I'd like that!

krstawrdtravels... I don't know about anybody else but I would LOVE to receive a cool recycled notebook. That sounds right up my alley! I bet if you do it up right, any recipient would be happy and lucky to receive it.

just a quick note I would perfer a journal with out lines I don't mind if its recycled or handmade in fact thats great and im sure that whatever my partner comes up with will be perfect

daffyd1963 - The instructions of the swap are to buy a cheap notebook. I don't know of any that are without lines. This may be a problem for your partner.

Would it be a problem if I made the journal rather than buying it? My handwriting is horrendous, and I'd thought I'd print out the prompts, then bind the book in some pretty, durable way with a cool cover.

daffyd1963 09/30/2008 #

its not a problem if she can find one without lines thats great but if she can't thats fine to , I occassionaly find them a the craft store on clearence

and I would love a handmade journal

but lines or no lines im sure it will be great
