Description:

Hello fellow artists!

For this swap you will be creating an ATC for one partner featuring a paper mosaic technique. These are easy and fun and the results can be amazing!

Typically,a mosaic is a piece of art made from small pieces of inlaid glass or stone--either a specific design or a random collage. We're just substituting paper for the glass or stone!

Here are the requirements:

  • ATC must measures 2.5" x 3.5" and begin with a sturdy background

  • you may either lightly draw an object on the ATC and fill it in using paper pieces OR you may just create a paper piece collage without a specific design. Some simple designs include a fish, a heart, a sun, a moon . . .

  • the paper you use for your ATC will be sender's choice (scrapbook papers, magazine pages, tissue papers, etc) You'll cut your paper into little squares/triangles OR into any shapes you like that will fit your picture

  • you should use mod podge or another decoupage medium to attach your papers to the ATC. You should also "paint" the mod podge on top of your design. (Walmart carries Mod Podge for around $6)

Here are a couple of youtube videos about making a paper mosaic:
