I'm definitely not the expert in the Gelli printing concept since I just started printing. I also do not have a branded gelli print block, so I usually refer to it as "faux-gelli printing", but I've been told mine look like I used the real thing. I recently bought a piece of flexible, chemical-smelling plastic from michaels by stampendous. It was branded a creative palette. I'm not sure what it is made out of. I was even thinking you could go to a hardware store to make something cheaper. I also have used the thicker plastic packaging comparable to a plastic sheet protector. My prints came out really cool. I've always been fascinated by the Mixed media, Gelli printing-look. So for this swap we all will be gelli printing TWO envelopes that are mail-able size. The smallest in the US is 3 1/2 x 5 1/2 inches I believe. Use whatever inks or paints or stamps or add-ons you so desire. Please do not use store-bought envelopes for this method. As an alternative, you may decorate a store-bought envelope with scraps of gelli printed paper any way you wish. I've been ripping the sides and ends to make a rough looking touch. If you'd like to add other embellishments that is fine too. Please keep them as flat as possible so the person use the envelope is not spending extra on shipping. Send something you would like to receive. After you've created your TWO Gelli Printed envelopes you will then create ANOTHER gelli printed envelope to mail them in..let's show off our mail art! Please include a note with the swap name and your username inside. Sender's Choice. Any questions please ask. I'm not an expert on this so I will try to answer the best I can. There are also TONS of ideas on youtube! |
