Pisces/February New Moon Prayer Flag

This is the 4th in the Astrology Prayer Flags. Whether or not you identify with the specific sign, we are all effected by the Moon as She travels through the zodiac.

You will have one partner and create one prayer flag. You do not need to sew. Prayer Flags are meant to set our intentions and when they are put outside to fly in the winds, our intentions are offered up. They are meant to disintegrate when the prayers are answered so it is important to make them eco-friendly to any animals that might be attracted to them. Best to use 100% cotton, and nothing on them that might choke a curious member of the Animal Nation. Cut your fabric at 6" wide and 12" long. Make a hanging sleeve by folding the top over 3" and securing it either by stitching or even hot gluing. The finished flag will measure about 6" wide and 9" long. Optional: Add a ribbon through the sleeve for hanging with ends long enough to attach it.

New Moons are the time of each month where we consider our next steps and start new things, or find better ways to do what we do. It is a time of promise and hope.

We combine this energy with the zodiac energy of the Sun and Moon, so close to each other that there is no reflection of the Sun on the Moon. She stands primal in the sky without that influence.

When the Moon steps into Pisces, you might find that you and others around you, are more outspoken than normal and a bit more sensitive than normal. So the best thing to do during this time is to explore your creative side. Even if your life or job position is analytic, you don’t have to be an artist to be creative, nor does creative equate to painting or drawing. It can be creative thinking.

Since Pisces is a water sign, you might be:

Feeling sad.
Feeling nostalgic.
Feeling frustrated.
Feeling angry.
Feeling irritable.
Feeling intuitive.
A need for independence and solitude.
Feeling a need for detail and organization.

I always think of Judy Garland as the typical Pisces who absorbed the energy of everyone around her and then overloaded because of her sensitivity. She was burdened by her addictions all her life and hoped they would help her cope. This is also characteristic of sensitives or empaths among Pisces people.

Taking commonly known information about the energy of Pisces & the NEW MOON, create your prayer flag to send out the specific energy you want to work with. You might want to think about people you know who are native Pisceans. How do they operate in the world. What challenges you about them? What do you love? What about yourself that has this energy & needs a new start?
