Description:

This is an international swap for all of those like myself, a knitter!

Requirements: Each swapper will receive 1 (one) partner who they will send a new or gently used knitting book to. Please do not send very old books, or those that have damage to them - treat what you send, the same as what you would like to receive.

The book could be filled with patterns, instruction, ideas etc. but should have a minimum value of $15.00 US.

Postage will be extra - REMEMBER this is an international swap, so postage may be higher for some swappers.

Please indicate in the comments section below, your knitting level (ie. never knitted before, beginner, advanced beginner, intermediate, advanced, perhaps even knitting instructor etc), as well as an idea about what types of knitting, and fibers you enjoy working with. Perhaps you only like childrens clothing or hats, maybe socks or dishcloths - this will make it easier for your partner. You may also send a knitting novel.

If you would like to include extras in your package, you may do so, but it is not required. The only requirement is the book. Please also be aware what country you are sending to, ensure that your recipient can understand the publication that you are sending them!!

Have fun, and please remember the rules!

**Due to many comments about non-senders, I have changed to signup requirements to those with a rating of 4.0 or better. If you do not fall in this category please email me before signing up or you will be deleted. Thanks!

I am a intermediate knitter, I've been knitting for about two years and have made everything from washcloths to stuffed animals, socks to sweaters. I've learned I don't like knitting lace or baby things. I love just about any fiber, merino wool being one of my favorites. I like knitting cute things (hats with ears or totoros) for adults.

I love any patterns in the round or from the top down, with minimal finishing. I don't like lace. Any fibers are great. Happy swapping!!

I'd say I'm an advanced beginner. I really love knitting books so i'm looking forward to this! I do have an amazon.com wishlist. I love knitting socks, hats, scarves, mittens, and shawls, and am about ready to dive into kniting sweaters. I love natural fibers (except cotton) in rich jewel tones, have an obsession with sock yarn, and looooove silk!

I love knitting with fibers of all kinds although I usually use natural fibers and usually don't use yarns that are heavier then worsted weight. I love socks, lace, raglan sweaters, toys, baby clothes. The only thing I do not like particularly is color knitting although I keep intending to teach myself fairisle and entrelac.

I'm an intermediate knitter who usually uses thick wool however, I plan on branching out a little over the next few months. I'm new to sock knitting and planning to make some summer socks. Also, I know of 2 summer babies in the oven so, I'll need to make non wool baby gifts. Surprise me.

Hi Everyone, glad that there has been a good turnout for the swap! I am just learning to knit socks this week at my LYS, so I would really like a book on some straightforward socks! I have babies due as well in my family. I have a 5 year old, and would also like to make some straightforward sweaters or toys for him. I have just learned cabling - the very basics!! Anyway, partners will be assigned in the morning on Monday! Take Care!!!

I'm intermediate. I don't like colorwork, other than that, i'm pretty open to anything. I'd love a book with items that are actually usable though!! Practical! I knit everything from purses, to baby items, to sweaters, socks, scarfs. Everything!

I sent out my book today. I kinda wanted to keep it a secret who it was from. hmmm Let me say this - if you haven't received your book yet and you live on the East Coast, it should (if it is from me) be there on Thursday (Friday at the latest) according to the post office. :)

Knitstress aka Mary - I received the book today! I love it. I could be happy working on just about any pattern in it! The photography in it is excellent and I will be learning a few techniques I haven't mastered yet. And that gauge ruler? That is the coolest one I have EVER seen. I love it. Thank you so so much!!!
