This swap is for beginners and experienced swappers both. This swap is International, and you will have one partner, and it is type 3 for the craft involved in making the Pocket Letter. :) The website I used to learn about Pocket Letters is: http://janettelane.blogspot.com/2015/02/what-are-pocket-letters.html?m=1 (Sorry, clicky links are beyond my ability, it seems.) If you have another method or site to recommend to others, you may use that style or post that site in the comments to share with other swappers, but this is the method I am going to be using. :) For this swap, you will only need to complete the 9-pocket arrangement with decorated cards/papers in each space, and a minimum of 1 page letter in the center pocket. Added goodies, stickers, washi tape, etc is NOT required, but you may include them if you wish. But that is NOT required. The theme of this Pocket Letter will be ... YOU! :) Each of the pockets should reflect you, your likes, your life, your interests. So, in one pocket I will probably include a quote from Charlie Chaplin, because I liked the movie (with Robert Downey Jr), the autobiography, and I enjoy his movies. :) I could also include a picture of Garfield, because I LOVE Garfield. The pictures and decoration can be something you drew, something you photographed, an image you found online, a quote you enjoy, a list of your favorite music, etc ... The 1 page letter can be on half sheet sized stationery, only one side is required. Please list the swap name and your swap-bot ID, and tell a little about yourself also, maybe why you chose some of the pocket decorations. OK? :) I haven't swapped Pocket Letters much, so this will be new for me as well. I know some are really detailed and decorated, and that's great! But this will be a more basic Pocket Letter to get started. Also, the more basic PL should be easier and less expensive to mail to International pals. If you receive a full page, 9-pocket Pocket Letter with decorated cards in each pocket, and a letter with the swap name and swapper ID on time, you should rate a 5. Some are more creative and artistic than others, this is a beginner level, not 'high quality', so we aren't judging artistic ability, ok? All group members are welcome to join, but you must have a very well filled out profile! Details about likes, dislikes, interests, maybe items you wish to swap or crafts you like or want to try. Check the forum thread on profiles - it's great! I will send emails to you to the email address you have on record with swap-bot! If I send you an email, I need a reply. Show me that you are paying attention to the swap and your messages. If you don't reply, you will be dropped from the swap. Communication! Since swap-bot isn't reliably sending out notification when partners have been assigned, I typically send out a group message to your email address when I have assigned partners, the day after sign up ends (usually by noon). You may start working on your Pocket Letter early, you don't have to wait for partners to be assigned! You must send on time! Send by date is not a suggestion! Oct 5 - I have extended the send by date a bit, to give you time to work on your PL and not rush. If you have any questions or comments about the swap, please send me a PM. :) Thanks! :) |
