You will decorate a small matchbox just as frilly and lovely as you can the box will be covered with pretty paper, scrapbook, for an example and embellishments on the top. You can Google and find examples of these. They make lovely ornaments for your Valentine tree. Inside the box you may include a note of why you love Valentine's Day.
