Description:

Now that our "washi newbies" got their feet wet in the first swap, let's do another swap. :) I upped it to 2 partners this time and modified the fine details just a bit.

We will be making a washi card for our partner to brighten her day. Therefore, please write a little hello note inside and on the card.

Fine Details:

  • Grab a few rolls of washi tape or some of the samples you've received lately.
  • Lay some strips side by side on a piece of card stock (in any direction you choose). If you're making a standard A2 size card (4 1/4 x 5 1/2), your card stock layer could be 5 x 3 3/4. I say "could" because you may choose to make it a different size altogether (like the swap icon).
  • As not all washi tape is created equal as far as stickiness goes, please fold your tape edge around to the back of your layer and then adhere that layer to a folded card base.
  • Adding a stamped greeting is optional. If you want to do all strips with no greeting, that's fine too. Sometimes they look pretty just as they are.
  • Decorate the front of your envelope with washi tape.
  • Include 4 random washi tape samples for each partner to play with. Wrap 9 times around a playing card.

Once you try a simple washi card, you may be inspired to create a few more and use them for pen pal cards, swap cards, etc.

Have fun! :)

P.S. The swap icon is a random card I found online.
