Description: | |
Like many others here on swap-bot I love writing and receiving long and chatty letters. But sometimes I can get a little discouraged, especially when I’ve put in some extra effort to make that letter look nice and cute, maybe used some pretty new stationary I recently bought, decorated the letter in stickers, added a little extra something in the envelope, etc, and then I never hear back! I know not everyone I write to is going to instantly “click” with me. Maybe I’m not the type of friend they were looking for. Maybe we don’t have the same likes/dislikes, or maybe we have completely different opinions on some touchy subjects. Whatever the reason, in the end I’m never really sure why I didn’t receive a letter back and usually end up incredibly disappointed. This is a swap for people who have had similar experiences, or are wary of having a similar experience, but would still like to look for a long term pen pal. You will have two partners who you will email each of them one letter. In those letters don’t forget to tell them about yourself, your family, your likes/dislikes, maybe something about what you do for work/school. The body of the letter is entirely up to you; just make sure it’s nice and chatty. Once your email has been sent out and you have received a reply, if you feel that you have clicked, don’t hesitate to start snail mailing instead! If you chose to sign up for this swap you not only promise to email your partners, but to reply back to the ones that have emailed you with their letters. If you are interested in continuing a long term friendship, then the means by which you communicate is entirely up to you. If you decide that maybe you guys just don’t have enough in common, just reply back, letting your partner know you received the letter. Maybe the age difference between the two of you is just too great and you don’t feel like you have enough in common. Maybe you have different religious views, or you don’t really want to pen pal with someone outside of your home country. Whatever the reason, by signing up for this swap you at least promise to reply back, thanking them for their letter. This swap is open to everyone- old swappers, new swappers, and the in-between swappers. This is a simple swap, no more than 20 minutes of your time, with no money involved, so I will not be banning anyone based on set criteria. However, if I feel you may have difficulties in sending, I will pm you and discuss my worries and we will take it from there. Please have fun with your letters, and I hope everyone who joins gets to make a new friend! I looked through previous and current swaps, but didn't find anything similar to this. If I have unknowingly "stolen" this swap idea from you, please let know so that I can properly credit the idea. Thanks! |
