Description: | |
For this swap, we will be creating 4 pieces of ephemera from a vintage sewing pattern, using inspiration from Tracie Fox. The video is HERE Old sewing patterns can easily be found at garage sales, thrift shops, and ebay. They are super inexpensive and I love them because there's so many possibilities and interesting little bits to them. While this is not a project found directly in one of their magazines, to me it is so very Somerset. Create 4 different pieces of ephemera for your partner. Some ideas could include tag, small pocket, cut shapes for a tuck spot, envelope, etc. Each piece is to be decorated using parts of the sewing pattern/instruction sheet/envelope. Feel free to add your own touches. Add stitching, rubber stamping, embellishments, inking, etc. The video is for ideas and inspiration, and you do not need to do your pieces exactly as she has done hers. These would be perfect in a junk journal, or as an addition to a handmade card or any paper crafting projects. Happy creating! |
