Just like the public version of the swap that you signed up for: This is an email swap, and you are required to send recipes to your assigned partners via EMAIL (not swap-bot messenger or other - email only.) You will have 1 partner, This swap is not profile specific, so you can get this ready to send before partners are assigned. You cannot rate your partner down if you do not like the recipe or if it contains something you are allergic to. You can join as many or as few swaps in this series as you wish. If you print out all the recipes, you can create a recipe book or card file for your kitchen. :) New swappers are welcome to join, but only with a very well filled out profile. All swappers need to have a very well filled out profile for this swap, with no late swaps. All swappers need to sign into swap-bot w/in 3 days of the sign up deadline. If you haven't signed in w/in those 3 days, you will be banned. Need to see active swappers who check out the site. Since we are entering the holiday season, I thought it would be good to start with holiday themed foods. These are foods you specially eat this time of year, maybe something special or specific to this time of year. This can include foods for Thanksgiving, Christmas, Solstice, Festivus, Hanukkah, Kwanzaa and others. As I said, this isn't partner specific, so you are not required to send something directed to your partner's stated beliefs. Holidays should fall between Nov 1st and Jan. 10th. So any traditional foods for holidays that fall during those dates will do. I know I won't be able to list all the holidays, and if I say 'winter holidays, that doesn't work for those in the Southern Hemisphere. :) So, dates work better. :) This swap is International, so you may get recipes from around the world. :) Measurements may need to be adjusted when you receive the recipes from your partners, but Google is quite handy with that. :) Whenever possible, please try not to include recipes that include a packaged food item (such as a cake mix or a special brand of sauce, etc...) This will help your partner when they try to create the recipe in their own home. :) For this swap, you will send your partner 3 recipes. One recipe should be a snack or appetizer, one for a main course food, and one for a dessert of any sort, including cookies and candy. You should only send recipes that are ones you use or have tested. If you normally make 'Chex Mix' for Thanksgiving snacks, then you can send that recipe. :) If you bake fruit cake for Christmas, you can share the recipe. (and I'd love to get a recipe for fruit cake!) But these should be tried and true recipes. If you wish to include why these foods are special to your family, that is fine, but not required. If you choose to include which holiday meal (Thanksgiving, Christmas, New Years, etc...), that's great, but not required. Please be sure to type clearly and make sure the measurements are all clear and correct. By sharing these via email, they should be easier to copy or print to your choice of processing program and format to fit into your chosen cook book or recipe file. Use "Swap-Bot: Private: Create a recipe book holiday" for the subject line. I've found that by including swap-bot in the subject line, it goes to spam less often, so should be easier to find, so you can rate your partner. :) Be sure to include your swap-bot ID in the email. Rate your partner when you receive the email. If you don't receive it, please check your spam/junk mail folders, then message your partner. Email is nice and easy to re-send. :) For new swappers - after sign up ends, the host has the ability to click a magic key on swap-bot and the computer bits and bots assign partners. You should, then, get an email saying partners have been assigned. Once you return here to the swap page, on the right side of the screen, you should see an option to 'see partners you send to' and you just click that, a new window pops up with your partners name and mailing address. Once you have written the letter, you will return to the page to click the "click here when you have sent your items' and it will mark it sent in the system. If you click that by accident, you can fix that too. If you have any questions or concerns, please send me a PM, as I may miss comments left below. Thank you. :) |
