Description: | |
(I hosted this same swap 3 leap years ago, in 2008. Wow, how time does fly!) February 29th, or Leap Day, comes but once every four years. Let's mark the day by exchanging cards! This swap is international. You will have three partners. You are to send a snail mail card commemorating Leap Day to each one. The card may be a bi-fold greeting card or a postcard, handmade or store-bought, humorous or serious, in an envelope or not (if it's a postcard). As you will probably have to produce your own cards in some manner (Leap Day cards not being readily available to purchase), I have made this a type-3 swap even though it is a flat mail exchange. Please do produce something nice; you do not have to be an official "artist" to participate, but don't just hastily color in a cutesy clip art image or slap on a sticker and call it a day. Newbies with well-filled-out profiles and at least 3 swaps successfully completed and rated will be admitted. I reserve the right, however, to ban anyone whom I deem "iffy" for any reason. If your rating average is below 9.8, for example, or you have a recent 1 or 3, you might want to message me before or right after you sign up, explaining why I should keep you in the swap and explicity committing to sending. Cards sent within one's own country should be mailed by February 20th, to ensure their arrival before Leap Day on Feb. 29th. Much more time should be allowed for sending internationally; please have those out by February 15th at the very latest. Better yet, just keep it simple: have your cards ready and send them all out the day after partners are assigned. Do make a serious effort to have your cards in the recipients' hands before the big day; after all, how much fun is a Leap Day card in March? Feel free to use the comment section below to tell us about any ideas or plans you have for celebrating Leap Day this year -- or of things you have done in the past. |
