Whimsy jars are always a popular type of swap, but with postage costs rising, they aren’t always practical. So instead, let’s swap whimsy bags! The idea is that you’re going to fill a baggie with a bunch of neat items that fit a theme. If you aren’t sure how much goodies to include, we’re going to include enough to fill a standard 16 oz. (pint size) Mason jar. You just won’t be including the jar in the shipment! Again, YOU ARE NOT SENDING A JAR. The theme for this particular whimsy bag is rainbows! So everything you include in the jar should be rainbow, or alternatively, you can include an assortment of things that fit the colors of the rainbow! Make sure this jar is full of color! What to include? If you need some ideas, think: Ribbon, washi samples, postage stamps, game pieces, rubber erasers, stickers, embellishments, toys – any kind of craft goody that is small enough to fit inside a Mason jar. If you want to do something extra for your swap partner, you could send them a label for the jar, or something pretty for the lid or to tie around the top of the jar, but it’s not required. Once you get your baggie from your partner, you can put all of the goodies into your own jar! If you take a photo, be sure to post it with the hashtags #magpiewhimsybag and #swapbot and #magpiejournalswappers . As always, you may include gently used items, but nothing smelly, dirty or sticky, please. Send things you’d be happy to receive yourself! Happy swapping! |
