Remember those home-made advertisements in the Grocery Store that had a person's Name & Number on little flags at the bottom of the ad that you could rip off and call the person for their service? Well this creative swap uses (that idea) but in a different way. How does it work: Take the concept of the "tear-off ad" as described above, but instead, create an "Ad" that lists your prayer intentions. Include a note as to when YOU yourself plan to pray for your intentions (what day you will start, and what time you plan to pray) so your partner can pray with you at the same if they are able. Then cut 2 in strips (or tear-off flags) along the bottom with the numbers 1-9. Each flag should be its own #, with a total of nine flags ready for tearing off. This will help keep your partner on track praying for you every day, and ripping of a flag after they are done. I recommend working with a manageable size to keep the postage to less than 3 Forever stamps. (5 1/2 x 7 in is what i plan to work with). Be creative and crafty in your design, and try to inspire your partner spiritually as well. As a spiritual strengthening exercise, you can try to focus your intentions on things that will help you get closer to Christ, like improve your ability to relate to others, or increase your patience with your neighbor or family member, or to make more time to pray. For example, if you are struggling financially, rather than asking for more money, one might ask for help to find meaning in this cross they are having to bear and for the ability to see other opportunities that might be available to them that would be helpful. Reminder this is a type 3 craft, by definition, a time intensive craft. This should be something suitable to pin up on a board or wall. The photo image is just to give you an idea of what a "Tear-Off Ad" looks like. Make it pretty in your own style. Mail it to your partner and let the praying begin! |
