This swap might become a group tradition, as this is the third year I’ve hosted this fun, easy swap. Technique recap: Cut up a bunch of Autumn-colored/themed paper strips (I tend to use 1/2" strips, but you can do any width you want, or even a combination of widths). Adhere the strips side by side to a piece of card stock (see tip), trimming the ends flush with the edges as you go or afterwards. (Tip: Adhesive paper or large labels are a great alternative to a surface for the strips - it saves not having to glue or tape each strip down.) Adhere this layer onto a folded card base. Your strips can go diagonally, horizontally, vertically - however you choose. It's optional to add background layers, embellishments, and/or a verse, quote, word or saying. Sometimes the cards look nice just as they are. Please add a little note inside the card to your partner. It can be about anything you want (your day, an upcoming fall event you are going to, the weather, etc.). Feel free to add an encouraging scripture inside as well. Lastly, please add some happy decor to the outside of your envelope just so we aren't sending plain ole boring envelopes. What fun is that? :) |
