Description: | |
You probably know what you write, but why do you write? This one-stamp snail mail swap is to send your partner a notecard --or a full letter if you prefer -- telling what you write and more importantly, why you write. Dig deeper than "because I was born to" and "because I have stories to tell." Do some self-reflection to determine why you write and why you do your type of writing. Be specific. Whether you write fiction, nonfiction, essays, recipes, graphic novels, etc., tell your partner what kind of writing you do. i.e., I write westerns set in the U.S. Plains in the latter part of the 19th century; or, I write rhyming poetry for kids; or, I write in my journal every day and include one thing about the day that I'm grateful for or that made me smile, etc. If you write genre fiction, which genre and why. If you're an aspiring travel writer, tell your partner about the first place you went and what you wrote. Since you don't have to wait for partners to be assigned, get started when you join the swap. There will be a week between the sign-up by and send-by dates. UPDATE 27April: Send by date is now May 15, 2021. Snail mail. International. Group membership. |
