Description: | |
In this swap we will harvest a variety of images from any printed matter to send to our partner. Some sources to consider: old books, magazines, song books, labels, advertisements, junk mail, sales circulars, brochures, etc. This swap is designed for people who love to use found images in collage, junk journaling, art journaling, or other similar crafts. Checklist: --Fill a large (around 9"x11") envelope with found images. Use an envelope that will hold larger book or magazine pages without having to fold them. Aim to make your envelope about 1/4" thick or so. --Feel free to trim any excess blank space that you think is unusable. Whole pages are fine, also--just use your best artistic judgement. (Optional: Feel free to fussy-cut some or all of the images if you want.) --Place the cut images in something protective yet flexible like an inner envelope, file folder, or plastic sleeve so they are less likely to be damaged on their journey --Please use schmutz-free sources! --Put some care and effort into your swap. We all enjoy receiving envelopes decorated with the happy mail aesthetic :D This swap is categorized as a Type 3 because of the crafting element. It is not a package, just a large, flat envelope. Review your partner's profile to see if you can accommodate their preferences, however, this is a Sender's Choice swap. If you receive a large envelope full of found images and it was sent on time, rate your partner a 5. Please be generous with hearts if your partner and fellow group member put some care, love, and attention to detail into their envelope. Take the time to message your partner if you have any questions about their preferences. Don't hesitate to message me if you have any other concerns or have helpful information pertaining to this swap. If you experience any delays in getting your swap in the mail by the due date, let me know immediately so I can help. Happy swapping! ~Eleanor USPS Guidelines for Large Envelopes --Large envelopes (flats) start at $1.00 Weight & Shape Requirements: --Maximum Weight: 13 oz. --Maximum Thickness: 3/4" --Must be rectangular, uniformly thick, flexible, and without lumps Non-rectangular, unusually shaped mail, like envelopes that are square, vertical, lumpy, or rigid, and mail with clasps, strings, buttons, or wax stamps, must be hand-cancelled and are therefore charged a nonmachinable surcharge.
