`*US ONLY*` I live along the shore of Lake Michigan, and I LOVE the soothing effect of the water. On a clear night, we walk out the pier to the lighthouse and sit and stare at the stars, surrounded by darkness and the sound of gently lapping water. Or on a beautiful sunny day, we'll take a drive along the lakeshore and see glimpses of great sparkling blue expanse that just takes your breath away. Even on a windy stormy day, the water becomes a writhing angry mass of gray that is almost poetic. As you may have guessed, I enjoy my lake! Actually, I love any water, a babbling brook, a warm spring rain or grumbling thunderstorm, the salty ocean. This swap is about creating a gift for your partner based on WATER. You can interpret this any way you choose. You can create something, write a poem, send water scented items, pictures of water, I guess I'm not being too creative right now, but I know that you will be!! The rules: US only, 4.5 or higher, 2 or fewer no sends, newbies welcome with FULL profile. If you do not fit one of these criterian, but you don't want to be banned, YOU must message ME. my year of charmed living was on Lake Anne, Reston, VA with the bestest used book shop as my "job" and a farewell party picnic on the lake boat! now I live withing a stone's throw of the Pacific...

I am spoiled now & can't imagine not living so close to water ...

When I was in high school and had my first car, I remember parking it along Lake Michigan in November during storms where the waves would crash completely over my car with me in it. It was unforgettably exhilerating, and the car was cleaner afterwards!

I love being on the water my husband and I have a lake house on the Ozarks. I love it year round, especially when it rains. One time my husband and I watch this storm roll in it was amazing we were standing on the dock waiting and you could watch the rain come right down the lake in our direction. It was breathe taking, especially with the thunder. WOW! I love being on the water at times.

The talk of rain reminds me........I LOVE the sound of rain on the camper roof in the summer!! I'm loving everyone's stories so far too; it seems that we all have poetic souls :)

I too live right across the street from Lake Michigan - I go there and am so thankful for such a beautiful wonder to have so close to my home. Not enough people here appreciate having something so beautiful and serene. It is taken too much for granted. I left the big city of Chicago to live here and what a difference in environments. I dont need to go on vacation when I have this at my beckon call.

Okay, I just want to say that this was my first swap and was really excited about this swap. I have not received anything yet and I am just really dissappointed. By the looks of her profile it looks as though she might be overwhelmed with other swaps so maybe later in the summer I will have my own swap for calming water.
