Description: | |
03/2022 I will host this swap for another 3-4 times (hopefully any PCs out there will be returned home during this time frame), then I will be taking a break from hosting this swap. If one of you would like to host and continue this swap in our group, please let me know. To get any postcards that are still out there, in motion and hopefully returned home, if you have more than one postcard in your possession, feel free to mail more than one postcard to your partner-that is, if they did not start the postcard..... In this series..we will make Pass and Paste PCs.....but each artist must also include a hand drawn (HD) or hand painted (HP) element on their art portion. It could be as simple as painting some shapes, or as elaborate as a full drawing...up to you on what you want to create. In this swap, you will send one Pass and Paste postcard to one partner. You can join in at any time by starting a HD/HP Pass and Paste Postcard, or by sending on one that you have received from an earlier round. To start a Pass and Paste PC, divide the PC in to 3 or 4 equal sections. You can send any shape or size, use wavy lines or straight lines to divide the sections, etc. It's up to you. Please use a sturdy material for the base. You then label each section 1-3 to 5, etc., or A-E, and pick a section for you to create in. Create your mailart in one section. You can paint, collage, make a drawing, use fabric, do whatever you want to make creative mail art. You must also include at least one element that is either hand painted or hand drawn. Next turn the PC over, and address the postcard to yourself. Also, divide the left side, in to 3-5 writing areas and label them the same as you did on the front 3-5, etc. This is where you, the artist, can leave a note, a quote, a drawing, your artist info, and which Pass and Paste you are doing (for example #3) etc. If you completed section B on the front side...then you will write in section B on the backside. Once you have completed your section, you mail the postcard, in a decorated envelope, to your partner, by the send by date. In the next round, you will use the postcard you have received and saved for the next round. You will create in one of the sections and then send that PC forward. If you like to work ahead, feel free to create on these as soon as you get them. Once you receive a postcard, and you are the last person to create on it (you fill the last space on the PC), then please mail it back, naked or in a clear sleeve, to the original starter (name and mailing info should be on the card already). You can jump in and start at any point, irregardless of what round it is, simply by starting a Pass and Paste postcard. If you receive an unfinished Pass and Paste PC, please always send it on, even if you decide not to participate any longer. At the very least, send it to me and I will forward it on. Please do Not send a starting artist their own postcard to work on......that's not fun. If your assigned partner happens to be who's postcard it is, just start a new postcard and save that postcard for the next round, or send it to me and we can trade cards. That way everyone should eventually get their postcard back, and they will only have one space of their own artwork. You can create in any medium that you like but please make sure you adhere any items securely..as these will eventually be mailed naked. Have fun. Please have filled out profiles, with no recent unexplained low ratings. Approximately every 3-5 rounds you will probably get a card that is returning home-where you will be the last artist participating on that card (depending on how many total artist spaces are on the card). In that case, that is when you would start a new card, with your address and info, and send that to your partner. And Also send the finished card back to the original artist. Keep in mind, it will take 3-5 rounds for you to get yours back. And, unfortunately, if one goes missing in the mail or doesn't make it to you, there is no way to recreate it, so a new one would need to be started. |
