I was just enjoying a YouTube video by ShanoukiArt and thought the artists in this group would enjoy an ongoing swap using your playing cards. Her YouTube is using a Full Deck in a year, but that's a bit more (a lot more) energetic than I feel I can do - but, a card a month is doable! Here's her first one No need to copy it exactly - make it your own, but please do emulate her style. I'm going to learn some great techniques from watching her; hope you do, too. The most important two rules for an Altered Playing Card (APC) is that it has to be a poker sized card (2.5 x 3.5 inches). You also have to let the top left (or bottom right) suit and number/letter show, whether it's completely open or can be seen through your art. It's up to you if you want to use a whole deck, or just the cards you have on hand (just join those ones, in that case). But, for those of us who want to use a whole deck, you must use the card that is being represented on the swap you play. We'll be starting with the Ace of Hearts, so everybody will send and get the Ace of Hearts. I'm not a gambler, but let's have some fun with some cards! Image is a card I made a long time ago for an alphabetic swap. |
