Hi everyone!

I know an official, non-group swap for handmade postcards already exists (right now). I thought it would be fun to do one in our group - and I thought we could repeat that (if there's enough interest?) and have one theme per swap? If there will be enough interest in this swap I'll set up swap 2 straight away. :) So… this is a first try:

You'll have 2 swap partners and you'll send ONE handmade postcard to each. You can send it either as a postcard or in an envelope. Note: IF you're MY swap partner, please send it in an envelope, IF I send to YOU I WILL use an envelope. That's due to the postal services having messed up cards before and I don't want to risk that. International Swap!

Now… you can decorate the postcard whichever way you like, please be a little creative (though I doubt I really have to point this out ;)). In fact you can even go wild using whatever you like really - if you send it in an envelope it should arrive alright after all.

I thought I'd go for some Baseball Fun with the first swap, so… do your best and I hope you'll enjoy this swap!

I'd love my partner to send their card in an envelope as well. Thanks!

I've only done one other postcard swap, so I was wondering if we are supposed to write a message on the back of the postcard like we would do with one from the store?

tinnuwen 04/ 7/2009 #

LOL... :D oh yes, sorry, i totally forgot about that. yes please, write a message... anything you like... a hi from one fan to the other... or something funny like... been to the most amazing game ever... :)

Do you have a link for postcard-making? Is there a very specific size it needs to be? Thanks!

tinnuwen 04/ 9/2009 #

Sorry, nope The postcard should be at least your usual postcard-size. You can always go bigger if you wish. As for the making… I usually take a card I don't want to send as it is, or I make one from a sturdier type of paper, then I basically would treat it like an ATC. You can decorate, use papers, prints, etc. IF you will send your card in an envelope (which at least two in this swap wish) you could also use embellishments and the likes. If you want to! Should you send it out NOT using an envelope I'd recommend using clear sticky foil to cover your card - because it can so easily get damaged. I hope that was some help? Else PM me - then I get your questions more quickly. :)

in an envelope for me too. have had bad experiences with handmade postcards arriving completely "naked" (only the address, nothing on the front)! :)
