Description:

I'm also hosting an international version in the International Fun Mail group.

Blackout poetry is a fun and easy way to attempt poetry even if you’re new to it.

For this swap, you will send your partner one handmade postcard featuring decorated blackout poetry. Make sure your page is on sturdy enough backing for a postcard.

What is blackout poetry? Take an approximately 4 inch x 6 inch page from a book, magazine, article, etc. Choose words or phrases that stand out to you. These will form your poem. Once you have chosen your words/phrases, put a box around each word or phrase for emphasis, then, “black out” everything else on the page.

For this swap, the unused words don’t need to be blacked out completely; they can be blacked out artistically in different colors or form an image. Make something nice you'd like to receive!

Send naked or unwritten/written in an envelope, if your partner has a preference or if your postcard is too thick/uneven. Do not rate down because of sending method.

Do NOT send an poetry that still has most of the text uncolored in some form. For example, this and this have too much undecorated space.

Profiles will be vetted before I assign partners. I will be checking for a history of late rating, late sending, or lack of craft/swap history. Participants must have signed into Swap-Bot at least 3 days before partners are assigned.
