Description:

Let’s make a pretty paper strips card. It’s easy; all you need are a few strips of pretty paper, adhesive, and a folded card base.

Your strips can go diagonally, horizontally, or vertically, and be in differing widths.

Tip: Large adhesive labels are great for making this type card. Just cut into your desired card layer size, peel off the protective backing, lay it sticky side up, and add your pretty paper strips to it. Trim off any overhanging strips on the edges. By doing this, you don't need to glue or use tape on each strip. I always keep an eye out for larger labels at thrift stores, estate and garage sales.

Optional:

  1. If you have an embossing machine you can run your layer through it using a pretty embossing folder, and then add it to your folded base. It makes it look like a paper quilt.
  2. Add a sentiment or scripture.
  3. Add other embellishments.
  4. Add a short note to each of your partners to let you know you are thinking of them. While optional, it’s encouraged. Edited: The note can be written in the card itself or included on a separate piece of paper).

Most of all, have fun using different paper strips to make beautiful cards. I set this swap up for two partners because I’ll bet you can’t stop at just one card. They’re addicting. 😉

P.S. The swap photo isn’t the best. My advice is to look online for inspiration.

Do we write in the card we make or send a separate note?
