This swap is adapted from Max Lucado's Life Lessons bible study on Ephesians. This is Lesson 3 of 12 and I will host one swap per lesson. Each lesson varies in length.

You may handwrite or type your swap and use any medium or type of paper you prefer (eg. lined note paper, journal, etc.). Just make sure that it is legible and can be read. Follow the prompts and answer the questions below! Enjoy & message me if you have any questions!

LESSON 3: HAVE MERCY!

REFLECTION QUESTION: Imagine you are teaching a lesson on mercy to a children's class. What illustration from your life would you use to describe what it feels like to receive mercy? How would you explain what it's like to be merciful to someone? What does mercy mean to you?

OBSERVATION: Read Ephesians 2: 1-10.

EXPLORATION QUESTIONS:

  1. What is something you did in the past but would never do now, specifically because you are a Christian? In other words, what specific changes have occurred because of Christ's presence in your life?

  2. Why does sin anger God?

  3. In what sense is "spiritually dead" an accurate description of life without faith in Christ?

  4. Explain the relationship of Jesus to the gift of salvation.

  5. Why do we sometimes perceive our salvation to be related to our own efforts?

REACTION QUESTIONS: 1. If God were not merciful, what would our lives be like?

  1. Think of a time when you had the opportunity to show mercy but didn't. Why didn't you?

  2. Describe an act of mercy you have seen recently.

  3. What is the danger of a faith based on works? How do you tell the difference between works-based faith and faith-based works?

  4. What was your life like before you were saved?

  5. How can we as Christians show the great riches of God's grace?

JOURNAL QUESTION: Where can I show more mercy through my life?

My mother used to say that God is in our hearts. Sometimes the best thing we can do is be the best we can be ourselves, think positively and do many good things so we can rest in peace in heaven after we die. Haunt The House is the title of my favorite game which you can try.
