Description: | |
May Day is coming up on May 1st. When I was a child, my family celebrated May Day with flowers and leis. I would often cut roses from our rosebushes, place them in a basket or cone, leave them on someone's porch, and doorbell ditch them! Sometimes I would make a lei and leave it in place of a basket of flowers. I have pretty much continued this tradition every May Day, choosing to leave flowers for loved ones or other people I admire. For this swap, we'll be doing pretty much the same thing. First, we'll be giving flowers to someone of our choice on May Day, May 1st. It could be someone we love and admire, or it could just be someone you want to do a random act of kindness for. I have to admit, it is more fun to do this anonymously, but I'll leave that part up to you, as well as whether or not you want to doorbell ditch who you give the flowers to :) Keep in mind, our flowers do not need to be an expensive grand bouquet. It can simply be flowers you picked from your yard. ( I do prefer you give flowers from your yard versus giving your neighbor flowers from their own yard! ;) Next, we'll send our partner a notecard with flowers on it. Your notecard can be store bought or handmade. Inside we'll write about our May Day experience, who we gave flowers to, and why. |
