In our era, sewing was a big part of every lady’s day. From making clothing, to mending or embellishing things like handkerchieves or fichus, a woman always had a piece of “work” with her. A lady should never have idle hands, it was considered becoming for ladies young and old to be stitching something, which showed their hands to great advantage, making them look delicate. For this swap, let us pay homage to the gentle art of sewing. This will not be a sewn item, it is a paper craft. We will be making a “one page wonder” booklet from a piece of 12” x 12” paper and decorating it in a sewing theme. THIS video shows a tutorial on how to make the one page wonder. Please use the video for inspiration but do not feel you must make it exactly as shown. The Details We will have one partner for this swap and create a One Page Wonder from a 12 x 12 inch paper. Please embellish it so that it reflects the general theme of sewing. Add a few tuck ins for your partner in the pockets created, and include a note. There are many sewing printables available on line to help you craft your booklet. Whatever medium you prefer, is fine to use, as long as it embraces the sewing theme. Should you have any questions, we are always happy to help. |
