Description:

USA only, 1 partner

I'm giving this round a bit more time because of the holiday season and all the mail. If everyone mails out on time from round 3, you should have your notebooks a few weeks ahead of assigning partners. Send by date for this round isn't until January. I hope this works with everyone's schedules. If it doesn't work for you, and you've been in other rounds, please let me know. Maybe we can adjust the dates a bit!

For this swap, you will need a lightweight notebook, about 5x8 in size, with about 20 pages. Please do not use spiral books - they just don't mail well. And no hardcover books, as they are heavier and more expensive to mail. Decorate the cover in any manner you wish - or leave it plain, that's up to you. Pages can be lined, grid, blank or dotted - your choice. And books can be handmade or store bought. Just try to keep them as lightweight as possible, as we will be trading these books about once a month.

This will be a round robin style swap, but you will be sending to whoever your SB assigned partner is, even if they have already received the book or if it is their own book.

You can join this series at any point, but this series will run for the next 6 months, at which point the notebooks will all be sent home to their owners, even if they are not full.

For the first round Using a notebook as detailed above, start this notebook by writing the swap name, your snail mail and email address to the front inside cover, and don't forget the date!!

Use the first 3-4 pages (1 side = 1 page, 2 sides = 2 pages), write a little about yourself. Don't forget the date! Feel free to add photos, lists and decorations if you wish. Mix it up. Avoid bulky or heavy additions, as it will be difficult for others to add to the book, and it could become more costly to mail. When it's all filled out, hang on to it until partners are assigned. Once partners are assigned, send the notebook to them by the send by date. Be sure to include a note with the swap round and your ID so your partner can easily rate you!.

Be sure to get tracking on this package! In the comments below, note the ID of the person's journal you sent on with the tracking number of the package. That way we will be able to see who has which book, and can track the notebooks as they move through the system. Do NOT send via Media Mail!

For Future Rounds

Once you have received a notebook from your partner, please rate!! Then add 3-4 pages about yourself, your likes, lists, and so on. Again, keep it flat just like when you created the journal. Once you've added your bit, sign up for the next round and send this notebook on when partner are assigned.

Overall, this should largely be a writing journal. You may add a bit of art to express yourself if you wish, but this is more for written additions than artwork.

After 6 rounds, we will all return the book we have to the person it was created by. If the book isn't filled up, hold on to it, and maybe we can do another series.

It is very important that everyone sends on time so the rest in the series can join up for future rounds. This group is pretty good about sending early or on time, so hopefully we won't have any problems! :)

Sorry, but I can only do this USA for now. If anyone would like to host an International version, please contact me.

Questions? Comments? Please send me a PM!

For mailing, consider using a USPS flat rate envelope. The envelopes can be picked up for free at the post office, and you can purchase and print the postage from home, to save time in line at the post office, and they come with tracking and move faster through the mail system. Not a requirement, just be sure you get tracking when you send, and you DO NOT send Media Mail! Media Mail can only be used for printed items with an ISBN. Items send Media Mail are open to inspection, at which time packages are delayed, but also your partner will be charged for the postage due.
