Description: | |
For this version of a cut and paste handmade postcard swap you'll take one single secular easter themed image from a book, magazine, catalog, calendar, treat bag, etc. and make it into a 4x6 postcard using a sturdy recycled backing. Secular means non-religous, so aim for non-religous representations of easter. Bunnies, chicks, pastel colors, dyeing eggs, etc. This is not a collage, but one single image to cover the entire 4x6 recycled backing (from packaging or similar). Use an engaging image that you think would make an excellent easter postcard, or use your partner's profile for inspiration. Be sure to use quality images on paper that will survive the mail system. Newspaper isn't a good option, even some magazine pages are too thin and delicate. Use your best judgement. Keep in mind that slick pages may not do well with a liquid glue, so use a quality permanent glue stick, rubber cement, or tape runner for adhering slick images to your backing. Once you have your image stuck to your backing, write swap info and message, address, stamp and send naked (no envelope). Write an actual message, not just a stamp or happy swapping. Note the quick turn around, not quite a week between sign up and send deadline. Work on it over the weekend and send by Monday. USA only for postage cost. |
