The ABCs: Philately ATC/APC Fun - May 2025

Let’s create a Starter-Set (of two STURDY cards) that both contain stamps/philately in some way, shape, or form.

I have purposely included APC in our swaps now because I have some amazing poker cards to use as altered backgrounds. I always make them sturdy by sanding the cards and adhering more than one together. It's been loads of fun (IMHO) adding texture and color to these card surfaces and giving them new life. So, I hope this will open new creative avenues for everyone in our group!

Of course, this swap is open to the sending artists' interpretation and includes any philatelic themed rubber stamps, postage stamps, acrylic stamps, hand-carved stamps, faux stamp shapes, etc.

This swap series may also include anything postal or correspondence related: mailboxes, mini envelopes, posties, Mr. Zip, Ben Franklin, Owney the dog, etc. It’s a philately jam!

All group standards apply.

These cards must be sturdy, properly sized, and labeled on the back. Buddy jamming directions are always on our home page for helpful reminders. Please, please, please read and adhere to these directions. Thank you!

RECAP:

1. Send a sturdy pair of cards (ATC or APC with your name and address on the back)
2. Include a pair (two) of embellishments or focal points for your buddy to work with
3. Wait patiently (at least 30 USPS business days) as your buddy adds their ar to the cards and returns one of the completed cards in the mail back to you

In the meantime, you'll be completing the cards that get sent to you by your assigned buddy, and then returning one of their cards to them!

The point of these buddy jams is that both artists will collaborate on a pair of artistic cards and each has one to keep in their collections.
