Flickr ATC Beginners Group Easy Peasy ATC Swap

I'm really looking forward to this swap!

as it's called easy peasy and we are all classing ourselves as beginners - i take it this means there are no limits/requirements other than 3 ATCs

no theme i guess is what i mean, just a chance to practice making ATCs?

just so i make sure i know what i'm supposed to be doing!

jennyb -- That is correct. I decided not to do any themes since sometimes I see a swap with a theme and I can't get any ideas for, let's say, how to do an ATC on the 1980s.

Partners will be assigned on the 18th. Swap-bot will send you a reminder that the swap is starting (or, you can just check here) At that time, click on the link that says "See your partner" (it'll be in the yellow box above).

When you see your partner's name, if you want, you can check her profile to see if you get any ideas for making personalized ATCS (like my partner might make me a horse ATC).

It is not mandatory to tailor the ATCS to the partner, though -- that's optional. In my case, I'd hate to force my partner to go find horsey stuff, for example. So, if you'd like you can start your ATCs now or gather untraded ATCs you've made.

Will someone please tell me how to join the Flickr ATC Beginners group? I realise I will have to join Flickr first, but do I need an invitation to join the beginners group there? I would like to join this swap as I am in Cleverst's "What's an ATC then?" swap but I know I will need more low-expectation swaps before I would have the confidence to join a normal ATC swap.

I don't know why this always happens -- swap date arrives but swap-bot won't give me the option to let it assign partners. I'll keep checking.

Okay! I tricked it by changing the start date to yesterday. No other changes, though, so we're all set. I'm going to click the button for it to assign...NOW!

Is it always hard to let go of these ATCs? Or is it just because this is the first time I'm sending one off?

Sometimes it is a little hard. I posted one for trade the other day on flickr and then raced back to my computer to mark it as not available so I could keep it myself. I just could not part with it! That usually does not happen to me, though! It helps when they're going off to a lovely person like yours are (and mine, too, in this swap). I liked sending out for this swap since we're all in the same group, it feels like making them for a friend, not sending them to strangers!

Just slipping in under the wire, my ATCs are on their way to mpontalba now.

Parting with my first 2 ATCs ever was easier because they are each part of an 'edition' so I have been able to keep one of each for future reference. The third is unique, but now I'm so experienced (cough), it was easier to let it go. ;-)

I received my cards from Cloverst this morning. They are great!
