Read the recommended Bible passages and the thought-provoking blurb below. Send your partner a letter or notecard answering the questions at the end of this post. Don't forget to pray and invite the Lord into your study time. Bible passages to read and reflect on this week: Joshua Chapter 1 (The Key Passage is Joshua 1:8-9) Just as this promise was true for the Israelites who claimed the land God had given them, it is true for you today. God is for you. He's on your side. He is with you wherever you go. Joshua 1:8 commands believers to meditate on scripture day and night so that we will be careful to do what is written in it. These are strong words of advice, and they are followed with strong words about reward. What does the passage say? If we do what the Bible says, we will be prosperous and successful. If there is any verse in the Bible that inspires you to spend time in the Word, it's probably Joshua 1:8. And the verse that immediately follows promises you that God goes with you. Claim these promises and remember to discipline yourself to follow what the Bible says in every situation. What does it mean to meditate on the Word of God? How is meditating on it different from just reading it? We are commanded to be strong and courageous. How does this look in your workplace? How does it look when you are teased because of your choice to follow God's Word? Did you have any other thoughts or questions from your study this week? Share your thoughts! | |
