This year, Diwali, the Festival of Lights will be celebrated on November 8. A friend of mine celebrates Diwali, and I thought it would be nice to do a swap for everyone who would like to celebrate it too. 😊 Diwali, the Festival of Lights, celebrates the triumph of light over darkness. The name of the festival means row of lights. Following the lunar calendar, the main celebration of Diwali takes place during the new moon. Candles and clay lamps are lit and placed throughout the homes and in the streets to light up the night. For this swap, let’s send our partner a Diwali greeting card and a surprise. The Diwali greeting card can be store bought or handmade. If it is handmade, please put effort into it and create something beautiful. On the greeting card write a lovely message to your partner. You can share if you have heard of Diwali before or if you learnt about it through this swap. You can talk about how you like the idea of a Festival of Lights. Or you could write about the things that light up your life. And if you live in a country where Diwali is celebrated (or you do celebrate it, no matter where you live), it would surely be great for your partner to hear about it. Together with your greeting card send a lovely surprise that somehow matches the theme. It is up to you what kind of surprise you want to send. It could be stickers (if you don’t have special Diwali stickers, find something around the theme of light for example), a bookmark, an ornament, or whatever comes to your mind. Please send your items on time and be kind when rating. You can send me a message if you have questions. Thank you, happy swapping, and happy Diwali! | |
