1 Samuel Chapter 25 (The Key Passage is 1 Samuel 25:32-33)

Abigail is described in this chapter as beautiful and wise; her husband, Nabal, as cruel and mean. What a contrast! As Nabal's wife, Abigail had a front-row seat to this man's drunkenness, selfishness, and anger. She knew, just as the servant said, that there was no sense trying to reason with Nabal. Abigail acted quickly and wisely. She courageously approached David and reasoned with him in order to save her family and Nabal's men. She left Nabal to God. What or whom do you need to leave to God? It's tempting to seek revenge or to wish harm upon people who mistreat us. When Abigail left her husband to God, he was turned to stone in a matter of days! Rest assured that the ungodly will see their demise. We are called to live at peace as much as it is in our control and to walk humbly with our God. Leave evildoers in His hands, and use your time and talents as Abigail did--for good.
